Review: World of Tanks

World of Tanks

Developer: Wargaming.net

Back in October I brought you an article, Tank You, World of Tanks :), which introduced you all to a new free-to-play MMO which was in Closed Beta Testing at the time. The game was released on April 12th and of course, I have given it a thoroughly good thrashing to bring you a review.

Black Prophecy: Revisited

About 4 months on from my original preview of Black Prophecy I have came back to see how the game is after its release in Europe

When I left Black Prophecy closed beta in January, it had the basis of a great game but felt rather shallow in depth and despite a thoroughly good fun prologue/tutorial, if a little buggy and lengthy, it definitely lacked something to keep a user drawn in. Add on top of this multiple patches, server downtimes and server lag issues, it was quite clear that the beta testers were in for a rough ride early on.

Black Prophecy Closed Beta First Impressions

In late December 2010 an email graced the ElcomeSoft inbox from Gamingo inviting me to the  EU closed beta testing of Black Prophecy... Having played Elite, Frontier, Freespace, Freelancer, the X-series since X:Beyond The Frontier, I have longed for the day where we would see such an MMO to come out and to be a part of the closed beta testing was almost like a dream come true.

Thanks to Virgin Media's traffic management policy I struggled with a hampered connection to download the game and eventually went to bed before the game had downloaded fully. Install was painless but I was slightly dismayed when my install decided to download a multitude of patches, some of reasonable size. Despite this I was still excited to be playing Black Prophecy!!!

The T-54: Yet another OP Russian Tank?

After the patch we have noticed a few more T-54's, Pershings, GW Panthers and the new tanks filtering through into our fights and having played alongside/gone up against most of them, I have to say that they have added a bit more spice to the game...

Update to my guides

As we are nearing v.0.6.2.4 I have started to update my guides, starting with my Tank Destroyer Guide.

I have played about 1,000 games (or more) since my last real update so hopefully I can bring something extra to the table and hopefully educate the playerbase that little bit more!

Check out my other World of Tanks previews and guides

Forsaken World: Bard Skill Overview, you say? Music to my ears!

The Bard... a Hybrid class without a place in the Forsaken World society to call home... Let's make them a force to be reckoned with and let's start with a guide that will suit any Bard up to level up 40, covering all of Phase 1 and Phase 2 of closed beta.

Forsaken World: MEDIC!!! Err I mean PRIEST!!!

This guide was compiled by one of my friends and a user of the Forsaken World forums, who also participates in Phase 1 of their closed beta testing. Their wish was for me to use my blog as a platform to present their guide.
